Our Story
Division 10 Highway Employees Credit Union was founded in August of 1953 and has evolved to Highway Crossroads Credit Union which proudly serves all employees, retirees and family members of Missouri Department of Transportation (Southeast District) and Missouri State Highway Patrol (Troop E); along with immediate family members of HCCU members.
Today, Highway Crossroads Credit Union is proud to have established relationships with more than 1,900 families with assets of nearly $20 million. The credit union is overseen by a Board of Directors elected by our members. The staff and board members encourage you to take an active part in the credit union by attending meetings and voicing your opinion.
The credit union movement began in 1855 with a simple radical idea: That with the help of your neighbors, you can improve your financial well-being. This idea spread across the world, and credit unions flourished, especially during times of economic hardship. Now centuries later, the bedrock principles of credit unions remain unchanged.
Credit Unions are still:
- People coming together to be their own bank, so no one can deny them a path to prosperity.
- People pooling their savings to provide each other affordable credit.
- People helping people.
- Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.
- “From a small seed a mighty trunk may grow.”
